Children’s Heartbeat Trust has been working since 1984 to provide practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people living with heart disease and their families. CHT offer youth and family support services, fund research and campaign for the voice of children, young people and their families to be at the heart of all congenital cardiac services.

Since they were founded, their research has helped to reduce deaths from heart and circulatory diseases by more than half. By 2030, The BHF wantS to see advances across the spectrum of heart and circulatory diseases; want to prevent these conditions from developing and want those with existing conditions to have better, longer lives.

NHSBT provide a blood and transplantation service to the NHS, looking after blood donation services in England and transplant services across the UK. This includes managing the donation, storage and transplantation of blood, organs, tissues, bone marrow and stem cells, and researching new treatments and processes.

CHUF’s mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. This is achieved by supporting the children and families who receive treatment by the Children’s Heart Unit staff based at Freeman Hospital and raising vital funds for large and small pieces of equipment, facilities, aftercare, salaries and research.
