West Belfast boy with a heart defect is the star of the show this Christmas. Dáithí Mac Gabhann was born with congenital heart defect Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has undergone major surgery but now needs a heart transplant. The two-year-old and his parents Maírtín MacGabhann and Seph Ni Mhealláin have become vocal organ donation campaigners and now the toddler has been asked to star on Belfast Lord Mayor’s Christmas Card. Lord Mayor unveils her Christmas Card today with young ‘star’ of it

Lord Mayor, Councillor Deirdre Hargey, unveiled her Christmas Card today accompanied by the ‘star’ of it – a young toddler from the city who is also raising awareness of the NHS Organ Donation campaign.
Two-year-old, Dáithí Mac Gabhann, was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) which is very rare and life-threatening and has undergone major surgery but now needs a heart transplant.  Full Story Here

Runners lacing up as Dáithí keeps inspiring

THIS year’s Gaeltacht Quarter 10K is set to raise awareness for a very worthy cause. Now in its third year, this year’s event will help to raise awareness for organ donation and the ‘Is Deontóir Mé – Yes I Donate’ campaign which was started by the parents of two-year-old Ballymurphy boy Dáithí Mac Gabhann.
